For all surgeries after May 1, 2009 this product warranty provides financial assistance of up to $3500 for the following expenses:

  • Operating room
  • Anesthesia
  • Surgeon’s expenses

These expenses must be the result of a gel rupture that is confirmed by Mentor to be due to loss of shell integrity within 10 years of the date of the implant.

MENTOR MemoryGel implants are referred to as “form stable” in that the cohesive nature of the gel filler binds this gel into a more firm compound. In the case that the shell becomes compromised, instead of leaking (as did the earlier implants), this internal implant may actually hold its shape even despite loss of shell support and not leak outside the shell (as did the earlier silicone gel breast implants). The result is a more stable implant that has been shown in head to head studies to have twice the durability as compared to the saline breast implant.
