The Process
At BEAUTY by BUFORD, we strive to meet your goals and to make the steps along the way as effortless as possible. Beginning with your initial appointment with Dr. Gregory A. Buford, our friendly staff will guide you through the process and go that extra step.
Your initial journey actually begins before you schedule an appointment. This is an important decision that can affect you in a very positive way and so you should only go with the best. We encourage you to review our practice and research the background and training of Dr. Gregory A. Buford. As our clients will attest, our happy patients are our greatest resource and word of mouth is the number one way that new patients find us.
So, once you have done your research, the start of your experience now begins with the Initial Appointment. You will begin by meeting Nancy, Dr. Buford’s Patient Care Coordinator, who will take you through the process of breast implant sizing. From here, you will meet with Dr. Buford who will review your medical history, perform a breast examination with measurements, and then discuss with you at length both your goals as well as his recommendations to help you achieve them. It is suggested that you bring photographs of results that you feel are close to the results that you would like to achieve so that you can express your expectations in a clear and concise manner.
Once you have made the decision to move forward, a Preoperative Appointment will be scheduled. At this time, the surgery itself along with standard risks associated with it will be reviewed with you in depth. Final implant sizing will be decided and any questions that you have for Dr. Buford regarding your surgery will be answered. Finally, preoperative photographs will be taken as a baseline.
On the Day of Surgery, you will be asked to arrive at the Surgery Center one hour prior to your procedure. You will meet with Dr. Buford and the anesthesiologist as well as the nursing staff. Following your surgery, you will generally remain in recovery for around and hour or so and then will be discharged home with a friend or family member. You will be given both the office number as well as Dr. Gregory A. Buford’s personal cell phone number and instructed to call for any concerns.
One week later, you will be seen for your first Follow-Up Appointment at which time sutures will be removed and dressings changed. You will be given your next set of instructions related to returning to exercise and daily activities. At this point, most patients are off of all medications and beginning to see their new results. Your next clinic appointments will be scheduled (from the time of surgery) as follows:
- 3 weeks
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 1 year
These appointments are all complimentary and included in the price of your surgery. If you have additional concerns, Dr. Buford may request that you see him more frequently.
