Would You Like to Win Something This Month?

Skinmedica Cosmetics Giveaway

Thank you for voting! This contest ended on 2/23/2012.

How about a few SkinMedica products? We appreciate the care that goes into their selection of cosmetic ingredients. We also appreciate how well their products work. If you’ve never tried them, be warned – once you try these high end cosmetics you may not want to go back to anything else!

  1. Win the SkinMedica Vitamin C&E complex (1.0 oz size). This cream is everything you’d want in a lotion if you wanted it to both moisturize and heal. It’s also engineered to release its ingredients throughout the day rather than simply going on your skin and getting immediately absorbed by your body.
  2. And win the SkinMedica TNS Illuminating Eye Cream (.5 oz size). This is one of our favorites for dealing with puffy eyes, bags under the eyes, or fine wrinkle lines below the eyes. The TNS Illuminating Eye Cream blend contains growth factors and peptides that help to minimize those skin problems. It also has a roller ball applicator that makes it easy to apply, even if you are in a hurry.

Here’s how to enter:

  1. Like “Beauty By Buford” on Facebook (Just click this link to go to Facebook).
  2. Leave a comment below telling us one way you keep your skin healthy in the winter. Please only one comment per person.

That’s it! The contest will be open until 1 PM on Thursday, February 23rd (2 weeks from today). One entry per person and the contest is valid for residents of the US and Canada that are 18 or older.

Make sure you sign up with a valid email address so that we can notify you when you win. It’s also the only thing we’ll use your email address for.

Good luck and thanks for visiting our Cosmetic Surgery Blog!

My advice is: pay attention to your skin’s reactions to different external influences i.e. cold weather, harsh winds, warm air, air conditioned spaces and find a cream that hydrates your skin sufficiently, but doesn’t leave it oily. Also (and this works for me), if you have combination skin where some areas are oily and others tend to dry out easily, only apply moisturizers to the parts of your skin that really need it. A gentle cleanser that you use daily will keep your skin clean and fresh and will make it easier for the moisturizer to get absorbed. Don’t use any harsh facial scrubs and don’t wash your face too often throughout the day or you’ll suck out the natural moisture from the already drier areas and the oily areas will produce even more unwanted shine. :)

  7. Debbie C says:

In winter, if not all year round, find a fine mist hydration product that you like and keep it with you in heated rooms. Once in a while, mist your face lightly to make up for the moisture that furnace heated dry air robs from your facial skin. It has to be a very fine mist to avoid ruining makeup of course.

In wintertime I stop eating chocolate and processed sugar since it tends to break me out and make my skin dry, and instead stock up on dates, figs and dried apricots. They improve my digestion and make my face more radiant.
