Denver Chin Augmentation
The symmetry, size, and contour of a person’s facial features work together to create balance and facial harmony. If one your features is out of proportion, it can throw off this balance and draw attention away from your other features. If you lack definition along your jawline or feel self-conscious about a recessed or “weak” chin, Denver Plastic Surgeon Dr. Buford can help you achieve a natural-looking balance with chin augmentation surgery.
Face & Skin Self-Assessment
Before you meet with Dr. Buford for your consultation, consider filling out our face and skin self-assessment. By sharing how you see yourself, we can best evaluate your aesthetic goals and determine an appropriate treatment plan for you.
By placing a chin implant precisely and intentionally to enhance and complement your natural features, Dr. Buford can help:
- Add definition to your jawline and give your neckline a smoother, refined appearance
- Provide structure, shape, and contour to a recessed chin
- Bring your facial features into balance and enhance facial harmony
- Enhance results of other facial procedures
During your personalized consultation, Dr. Buford will work closely with you to understand your concerns and develop a surgical plan that best meets your aesthetic goals. Before & After
What to Expect from your Chin Augmentation Procedure
Typically performed under general anesthesia, chin implant surgery is an outpatient procedure and, depending on your unique needs, generally takes between one to three hours. Dr. Buford will begin by placing a short incision under your chin as inconspicuously as possible. During your chin enhancement, Dr. Buford will insert an implant made of a safe, synthetic composite, placed directly around your existing chin bone to provide definition. Your implant will be pre-selected prior to surgery and custom fit to give you the most natural-looking results for your individual facial structure. After the chin implant has been place and desired results have been achieved, Dr. Buford will suture the incision.
After your procedure, your chin may be taped to help lessen swelling and discomfort. For the first few days after surgery, you will need to rest and allow your body to heal. We recommend you avoid strenuous activity, such as rigorous exercise, for a few weeks, but most patients are able to return to work within a few days.
What are chin implants made of?
Facial implants are made from a variety of materials, determined by the manufacturer and specific product. At BEAUTY by BUFORD, Dr. Buford uses implants made from a bio-compatible composite that easily and safely integrates with your own tissues. During your consultation, Dr. Buford will provide implant size and shape recommendations that will complement your facial features and provide optimal results.
