Clear Link Found Between Vitamin D Deficiency and Alzheimer’s Disease
Are you getting enough sun exposure? If you’re like most Americans, you’ve probably listened to people like me (a Plastic Surgeon) who has been telling you to wear sunscreen and avoid long sun exposure to reduce your risk for skin cancer. And while that suggestion is well-intended, the medical community may have been causing another issue…chronic low Vitamin D levels!
We used to think that Vitamin D was just that…a vitamin. But now research is showing us that Vitamin D is much more. In fact, we now look at it as more of a pro-hormone with far reaching effect on receptors throughout the body.
So what’s the problem? The problem is that a majority of Americans are probably walking around with low or very low levels of Vitamin D and this deficiency could be causing BIG health issues down the road.
Today’s article focuses on a study recently published in the journal Neurology which showed a clear link between Vitamin D deficiency and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Now do we have your attention?!!!

Because of its importance, we check Vitamin D levels on all of our Body Contouring patients. In the past 6 months since the launch of our RESPONSIBLE CONTOURING Program and testing of these levels, we have found that every single one of our participants has either been low normal or below normal in Vitamin D. That’s pretty scary!
